Raters: Jason Freudenburg  Madison (Meets/Individuals) &  Jared Owens  Tekamah (Duals)

TOP 10 CLASS C MEET TEAMS #  2/8/18

1.) Valentine

2.) Broken Bow

3.) David City

4.) Battle Creek

5.) Aquinas

6.) North Bend

7.) Central City

8.) Ord

9.) Crofton/Bloomfield

10.) Syracuse

COMMENTS:  No change from last week.  Positioning coming out of the state tournament will be key for the team race and bonus points will be huge.  All ten teams remain the same with a little bit of a switch in the order from the previous rankings.  Right now I am going to give the runner up nod to Broken Bow simply due to the fact that they will fall on the opposite side of their Valentine counterparts in the state tournament due to being in the same district.  Anyone in the top 5 could make a serious run at Valentine if they get on a roll and pull a couple of upsets. The next five teams all have a few athletes that should be wrestling on Saturday.  I really think that the class C team race will be the most exciting race at the State tournament

TOP 10 CLASS C DUAL TEAMS #  2/8/18

  1. Battle Creek
  2. Broken Bow
  3. Valentine
  4. David City
  5. Aquinas Catholic
  6. Logan View
  7. Central City
  8. Ord
  9. Northbend Central
  10. Arlington

COMMENTS:

Contenders Wilber Clatonia, Sutton

This is how I think the state dual tournament could be bracketed after the district tournament.

C1 David City, Central City, Sutton

C2 Battle Creek, Aquinas Catholic, Wilber Clatonia

C3 Logan View, Northbend Central, Arlington

C4 Broken Bow, Valentine, Ord

I believe that Battle Creek will score the most points at their district tournament and that Broken Bow will topple Valentine again at the district tournament.  I think 3 teams come out of the C-4 district and that the C-3 runner up is on the outside looking in. (You could switch up Northbend and Logan View.  That team race will come down to which team scores more points on the backside of the brackets and who score more bonus points. Arlington will not be far behind and with some help may jump both teams.)  David City is the other champion in C1.  This is not necessarily how I believe the teams will finish at the state dual tournament just how they will be seeded.  If this is in-fact the field I think the top four teams advance and based on past results Valentine and Battle Creek move on the finals where Valentine once again tops Battle Creek.
