3. Plainview 10
4. Creighton 11

10. Franklin 10
(Number denotes projected filled weights for duals)
Co-Raters: Zac Kliment Creighton
BOTH Bob West Elm Creek

COMMENTS: In order to qualify for the state dual tournament, a team has to either win their district (regardless of weight classes filled) or earn enough wild card points having at least 10 weights filled. Amherst and Burwell look like they should qualify out of their districts with the depth their line-ups have this season. Outside of those two, others will have to score high at districts and/or find a way to fill line-ups. In D2 High Plains and Elkhorn Valley will look to keep pace. While in D3 it looks like D1 will see Plainview try to outlast Creighton and Superior. Without enough competitors, St. Pats will compete with Mullen and Sutherland to earn an automatic spot out of D4. Will be interesting as the year goes on if teams will be able to fill the weights necessary to qualify from districts.

1. Amherst
2. Burwell
3. Plainview
4. North Platte St. Pats
5. High Plains
6. Sutherland
7. Creighton
8. Franklin
9. Palmer
10. Elkhorn Valley

COMMENTS: With the season underway and the holiday break approaching, another few weeks of wrestling has shown a better picture of what weights guys will be ending up with several rated wrestlers moving down. For the majority of the state last week was a difficult one as many sat at home due to the weather. A few tournaments like the competitive Kearney Catholic Tournament were able to get done, while a majority were postponed to later this week. Looking forward to seeing some match-ups we missed this past weekend.

1. Ryan Patrick, Sutherland
2. Logan Russell, High Plains
3. Isiah Shields, Amherst
4. Cameron Wilkinson, Neligh-Oakdale
5. Preston Acton, Southern
6. Breckin Ratkovec, East Butler

COMMENTS: Patrick and Russell remain unchanged at the top. Shields has continued to impress. Acton was able to edge Ratkovec 4-3 at Osceola last week to jump him in the ratings.

Edwin Aguirre, Arapahoe
Nate Christiansen, Plainview
Kaiden Mrsny, Pender
Koby Ellis, Winside

1. Connor Hazen, Creighton
2. Trevor Nelson, Crawford
3. Sal Aguirre, Amherst
4. Dillon Steward, Elkhorn Valley
5. Zak Olson, Twin Loup
6. Nathan Murrillo, Morrill

COMMENTS: The top 5 here remain unchanged as all have continued to win out. Murillo enters this week with his only losses coming at the hands of Nelson. Phillips from Burwell could figure in here, but has yet to see enough action. Again there are a few wrestlers right on the bubble that could be rated as well.

Tate Phillips, Burwell
John Tenbensel, Cambridge
Charlie Gale, North Central

1. Alejandro Martinez, Elkhorn Valley
2. Dominique Rickard, Plainview
3. Alex Araujo, Bayard
4. Coy Gideon, Burwell
5. Tayten Eggleston, South Loup
6. Drew Goosic, Franklin

COMMENTS: With a few losses, Cumpston drops out of the top 6. With a close win over Goosic early, he could very easily still be in. Eggleston from South Loup has strung together some wins to enter. The top 3 still look strong enough to remain there.

Garrett Neumeister, Weeping Water
Clay Church, High Plains
Logan Henn, Elgin Public/Pope John
Tyler Kapperman, Arapahoe

1. Tyler Pawloski, Pleasanton
2. Zac Hazen, Creighton
3. Mitch McKibbin, Bayard
4. Keagan Casey, Thayer Central
5. Joel Ostrom, Burwell
6. Adrian Gerkin, Eustis-Farnam

COMMENTS: I have yet to see anything over the last two weeks that would have shook 126 up yet. There are several wrestlers outside the top 6 who have beat up each other. Plenty of potential here as Steward from Elkhorn Valley may come down after the holiday break.

Mark Schwartz, Garden County
Jacob Lantis, Sutherland
Luke Henn, Elgin Public/Pope John

1. Cameron Riggs, North Platte SP
2. Trent Steinkraus, Plainview
3. Kaden Guerrero, Southwest
4. RJ Tutlam-Hazen, Medicine Valley
5. Darren Steward, Elkhorn Valley
6. William White, Sutherland

COMMENTS: Another weight that I don’t see changing. Riggs and Steinkraus continue to win at the top. Tutlam-Hazen defeated White at Elwood 7-2. White returned the favor 8-0 at Southern Valley.

Jefferson McNeill, Oakland- Craig
Andrew Herley, Neligh-Oakdale
Kale Fishler, Harvard

1. Christian Miller, Plainview
2. Brody Lewis, Franklin
3. Brett Riggs, North Platte SP
4. Ryley Spatz, East Butler
5. Sid Simants, Stapleton
6. Peter Spilker, Tri County

COMMENTS: Miller, Lewis, and Riggs all remain undefeated at the top. Simants has wrestled well beating some quality opponents with his only loss coming at the hands of Riggs.

Sam Florell, Amherst
Dylan Zeleski, Overton
Terry Stephens, Pleasanton

1. Jaydon Elge, Nebraska Christian
2. Cole Aschoff, Plainview
3. Jake Judge, West Holt
4. Riley Nichols, Elm Creek
5. Trace Baasch, Amherst
6. Colby Coons, Twin Loup

COMMENTS: Jaydon Elge being down at 145 makes an already tough weight class a brutal one. Aschoff remains the best contender at the top. Nichols has given Baasch his only two losses of the season. Freshman Colby Coons enters after starting his career undefeated. The postponed Pope John tournament will provide some great matches at this weight.

Seth Simants, Stapleton
Bryce Zimmerer, Creighton
Joshua McFarland, Elkorn Valley
Dalton Bohac, East Butler

1. Miles Kulhanek, Howells-Dodge
2. Aaron Allison, North Platte SP
3. Edwen Baptista, Friend
4. Connor Donscheski, Palmer
5. Zach Morris, Winside
6. Riley Racicky, Pleasanton

COMMENTS: I was mistaken for leaving Miles Kulhanek out of the top 6 in the initial ratings. He has started this year in dominating fashion. Both Allison and Baptista have dropped only one match to Tracy of Gibbon and remain 2 & 3 respectively. This weight is still very deep with several other quality wrestlers that could break onto the medal stand.

Connor Banzhaff, Cambridge
Dylan Davis, Medicine Valley
JT Bradley, Sandhills/Thedford
Colby Ensz, Tri County

1. Drew Loberg, Randolph
2. Chandler Donscheski, Palmer
3. Jared Atkeson, St. Mary’s
4. Leland Bowder, Pender
5. Justus Monette, Mullen
6. Braiden Gomez, Axtell

COMMENTS: Loberg will be a tough out for anyone here. Atkeson has started his season undefeated and enters the rankings. Braiden Gomez has also wrestled well with losses coming from high-quality opponents.

James Schroll, North Platte SP
Cole Egge, Amherst
Corey Dawe, Burwell

1. Kalen Klingelhoefer, Amherst
2. Braydon Mlady, West Holt
3. Kyle Stevens, High Plains
4. Hunter Reimers, Palmer
5. Colby Collier, Sandhills/Thedford
6. Preston Walker, Elm Creek

COMMENTS: The only change this week is Dalton Shimmin entering. He has not dropped a match yet. Neither have Klingelhoefer or Collier. There are only a few losses between all of these wrestlers with several more capable athletes waiting right outside.

Layne Heese, Pender
John Sullivan, Superior
Dalton Shimmin, Arapahoe

1. Tori Huffman, Burwell
2. Payton Stevens, High Plains
3. Seth Racicky, Ansley/Litchfield
4. Cooper Smith, Tri County
5. Lane Morris, Superior
6. Cody Downey, Southwest

COMMENTS: Huffman and Stevens remain at the top. Seth Racicky was another wrestle I shouldn’t have missed in the initial ratings. Off to a great start. Cody Downey also enters with only one loss to Racicky on his record.

Dietric Kenning, Thayer Central
Collin Gale, Plainview

1. Dane Bogard, Amherst
2. Trent Christiancy, Franklin
3. Travis Likens, Tri County
4. Brandon Rezac, East Butler
5. Hunter Stratman, Axtell
6. Beau Wood, Perkins County

COMMENTS: Trent Christiancy moving down makes the top of the medal stand much more difficult. The rest of the weight class has done enough to remain where they are currently.

Scott Taylor, Medicine Valley
Jarod Nichelson, Sutherland

1. Tyler Gideon, Burwell
2. Robert Muench, Sutherland
3. Will Atkeson, St. Mary’s
4. Levi Henderson, Medicine Valley
5. Darik Holt, Superior
6. Seth Wentworth, West Holt

COMMENTS: Gideon and Muench Stay at the top here. Henderson enters the ratings as he comes down from Hvwt. Holt and Wentworth round out a top 6 that has a few others waiting to possibly get in, namely Robert Gardner of Arapahoe who has also had a great start to the season.

Gabe VanEngen, Freeman
Jesse Thompson, Pender
Robert Gardner, Arapahoe

1. Thomas Hughes, Burwell
2. Jacob Peterson, Amherst
3. AJ Skaggs, Axtell
4. Rome Lerma, Minatare
5. Cole Rosenkrans, St. Mary’s
6. Cade Payne, Hemmingford

COMMENTS: The top three remain the same with Hughes still being the favorite in this class. Lerma moves up as he has started the year well. Cade Payne enters the top 6 with his sole loss to Lerma.

Tyler Schultz, Cambridge
Benton Gustafson, Tri County
Jade Buss, West Holt
