Coaches Hall of Fame: Jeff Heimes

COACH
Hall of Fame – 2010
Norfolk Catholic

In ten years Coach Heimes took Norfolk Catholic from an 0-9 dual record to back to back State Championships.  In addition to the two title Coach Heimes’ teams had six other top ten finishes, four district and four conference championships.  He has coached ten individual state champions.  Besides his duties coaching the Knights, Coach Heimes coached the Nebraska Disney Duals teams for five years.  In 2005 he was the Class C Vern Ekfelt award winner, in 2008 was the NHSACA Coach of the Year Nominee, and was the Mid-States conference Coach of the Year, four times.  He has also earned the level II award from the Nebraska Coaches Association.  An active member of NSWCA he has served on the board, been responsible for ratings, and hosted the NSWCA classic twice.

Since retiring as head coach in 2008 Coach Heimes has stayed involved in wrestling working as an official and a state tourney volunteer.  His biggest thrill is witnessing the Parade of Champions as an individual wrestler and coaching ten champions.  People think that over the years it  would lose its effect, “but it still gives me chills today”.  Jeff is being introduced by his friend Cody Wintz.
