Braumon was a 2x State Placer taking 5th and the coveted Gold his senior year 1994. He was also the Omaha Metro Champion and District Champ that year. He was undefeated his senior year @135 with a record of 35-0. In addition he can proudly claim the title of Nebraska Freestyle State Champ and was 4x North Central Conference finalist. Add to that 3x North Central holds a career record of 151-27 Braumon also was a 2x NCAA Division II National Champ, 4x All American with two of those the Gold, 2x Ryan Kaufman Open Champ, 1998 UNO Student Athlete of the Year, 1999 North Central Conference Wrestler of the Year, 1999 Omaha Sportscasters Association Sportsman of the Year (co-winner with Chicago Bears Safety Mike Brown), 2004 UNO Athletlic Hall of Fame Inductee, and 2005 California Community Colleges Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year Finalist Braumon’s biggest wrestling thrill was winning the 1998 national title and sharing that honor with family and friends. He is introduced by his college coach, Mike Denney, Hall ’86.
