While at Columbus High School, Charlie was a 2x State Champ, taking second one time. He attended the University of Iowa from August, 1984 – December, 1987 where he was a member of two NCAA D-I Champ Teams. While at the University of Missouri from January, 1988 – March, 1989 he was NCAA D-I All American at 190 lbs. His high school record stands at an amazing 94-2. In addition he had the honor of being 1st Team High School All American . Another honor in 1985 was being on the Espoir World Freestyle Team at 198 lbs. Charlie’s biggest thrill was winning the Nebraska State High School Championship at 167 as a junior after breaking his thumb in the semi’s. He is being introduced by his friend Larry Thalken.
