I was born on August 11, 1952 to Howard and Dolores Wright. I went to country school until the eighth grade then when to Mullen High School where I graduated in 1971. In high school I lettered in football, wrestling and track, as well as a back to back state champion as a wrestler in the 185 pound weight class. As a junior I won districts in class D then went on to win state. I ended my senior career with a 19-3 record and being a state champion winning all my matches with pins. After graduation I worked on my family’s ranch while joining the National Guards for six years before retiring as E6. Then I became a director for the Sandhills Cattle Association for about three years. I married in 1983 to my wife, Nancy and have two children, Charlesee and Amber, who go to college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is being introduced by fellow inductee Ed Arends.
