Hall of Fame – 1985

Jim was a student at Omaha North from 1954-58 where he wrestled, then at the University of Nebrask from 1958 to 1962, Army wrestling from 1962 to 1965 and NYAC wrestling from 1963 to 1965. He was a high school state champion in 1958, Big 8 Champion in 1962, National AAU Freestyle and Greco-Roman Champion in 1964, third in the world in Greco-Roman in Sweden in 1963, a member of the 1964 Olympic team (an injury prevented him from competing), All-Army Champion and All-Interservice Champion in 1963 and 1964.

Mr. Raschke stays active in wrestling through coaching age group wrestlers and did some assisting at the Universtiy of Nebraska. His greatest thrill came when he beat Dale Lewis, a two-time NCAA Champion during his first collegiate match his sophomore year. Mr. Raschke also gained a great deal of notoriety wrestling in the professional circuit as Baron von Raschke.
