Competitors Hall of Fame: Kenny Nordhues

Hall of Fame – 1999

Kenny can claim to be the fourth individual to take the state crown for the fourth time in the 70-some year history of this outstanding sport in Nebraska, and coming after a long, dry, spell of 49 years. Something to be very proud of. It is an impressive journey from the junior high team’s student manager to the center of the mat at State, not once, but four times, and having your hand raised in victory in that final championship match. Kenny, along with his cousin Donny, was given the NSWCA Guy Mytty Outstanding Senior award in ‘95. Wrestling at 112, 119, 124, and 134 throughout high school he was District Champ 4x and took first in the Junior Olympics in 1994. His high school career record stands at 131-1 which is the All Class Record and Class D Record in Nebraska. Kenny claims winning the four State Champ titles has been his biggest thrill. He is introduced by his former coach, Ed Rowse.
