Marvie attended Rushville High School from ‘92-’96 and also competed in Nebraska Freestyle from ‘87-’96 as well as NE AAU from ‘93-’95. While in high school he had a record of 118 -18 with 96 being pins. He took 2nd at State in ‘94 and State Champ in ‘95, ‘96 (Rushville was Team Champ in Class D that year. Adding to this he took 3rd in ‘95 at the Disney Duels. Experience in Freestyle shows a record of 353-55 as well as being State Champ 5x, 3rd in Regionals 3x, and 5th in Regionals 2x with 4th at Cadet Nationals. Competition in NE AAU shows a 12-0 record as well as being a 2x State Champ. At Rocky Mountain Nationals he took 3rd place in ‘94 and ‘95. Special honors that Marvie has collected during his career include Rushville High School Sportsman of the Year in ‘94, ‘95,’96, Academic All State in football and wrestling in the same 3 years, State Freestyle Rookie Referee of the Year in ‘95, High School MVW 7x in tournaments, and holds Rushville’s pin record at 96. His biggest thrill was watching his little brother D.J. go undefeated and winning State in 1998. Marvie is introduced by his friend and former coach Ward Wacker of Gordon.
