Matt is a 3x State Champ taking that glory in ’90 at 112 and in ’91 and ’92 at 119. He took 5th as a freshman. His career record stands at 101-12 with 32 tournament championships, 77 career falls, and 20 consecutive falls. He is a member of 3 State Championship Teams. Matt attended UNK and has helped coach and officiate kids wrestling since his freshman year. He began coaching high school wrestling his 3rd yr. of college and has been teaching andcoaching since. He is currently the director for the S.E.M. Huskerland program. He is also a 2x NSWCA Academic All State team member, has competed and won his match in the NSWCA East-West Dual, and was chosen Loup Valley Conference Male Athlete of the year ’91. His biggest thrill was winning his 1st State Title in ’90. He was part of a record setting team that had 5 State Champs that year. Mullen went 5 for 5 in the finals. Matt says, “It is very gratifying seeing a season and career full of hard work pay off for the team.” He is introduced by his coach,Dan Brost (Hall ’94).
