You want to know about volunteers for wrestling programs in Nebraska – this is THE MAN! Munj got his first taste of this sport when he moved to Schuyler his freshman year and met Coach Roger Barry . Looking to start a kids’ program Coach Barry called for volunteers from his wrestling team to meet on Saturdays to help coach and Munj stepped forward. He has been at it since then and kept adding more responsibilities. When a leader was needed for the Schuyler Wrestling Club , Munj was there again. He has been at the program’s helm for 22 years. He has organized and held the Schuyler Invite(which attracts 600+) for 21 years. He volunteers to take wrestlers to tournaments around the country for USA Wrestling, works the Cornhusker State Games (12 years) in the area of pairings and bracketing, and as assistant director. He has worked the National Duals for 5 years in bracketing and weigh-ins, as well as the Great Plains Tournament in the same category. He has helped new clubs get organized, helped Howells get their tournament started, worked with the Super Champs of Fremont, organizes table help for Schuyler Invite, and secured help when the districts and conference has been in Schuyler. In addition , as if there is time, he promotes Old Timers’ meets, is very vocal in promoting wrestling throughout the state, and if anyone needs anything or any help in any way call THE MAN! His biggest thrill is being able to see kids he has coached grow up to be young men and qualify or place at state. He is introduced by his former coach, Roger Barry (Charter Hall Member ‘82,) and his two friends, Paul Sok (Hall ‘96) and Craig Hellwege (Hall ‘96).
