Hall of Fame – 2010

When it comes to giving back to wrestling Lindsay Ball is your man. After a stellar career at Columbus high school where was a 3 time state medalist including 2 titles, Lindsay compiled a 21-14 record at the University of Missouri.  He is also 4 time state freestyle champion, and placed 4th nationally in 1974.  In 1979 He became the head coach  of Lathrop HS leading them to a 5th place State finish.  From 1980-89 he was the coach of Blue Valley HS in Stillwell KS amassing over 100 dual wins, a 3rd place team finish and producing the schools first individual state champion.  From 1991-1996 he was head coach of Maui HS in Kahului, Hawaii, where he produced the schools first state champions in over 20 years. 

In 1992 he helped start the Maui Style Wrestling Club League.  Today that that club has expanded to eight clubs, located in every populated area on the three islands of Maui County.  Along with his brother he has run every youth league tournament since the inception of the  Maui Style Wrestling Club League,  conducting 6 tourneys per year including the AAU State Championships,  He has been Tournament Director for the Maui Invitational (largest tournament for Hawaii and mainland wrestling) for 12 seasons.  He along with his wife continues to run the Maui Interscholastic League wrestling tournament among the over 100 tournaments he has run.  Lindsay is currently an assistant coach at Lahainaluna HS in  Lahaina, Maui, where he has helped many high school athletes become State Champions including his nephew.  Lindsay is being introduced by his son, Jimmy Ball.
