Officials Hall of Fame: Jerry Mccollough

Hall of Fame – 1992

A familiar face in black and white at the State Tournament, Jerry has been “in the business” some 34 years and they keep asking him back as he has officiated every season including districts and state since 1968 in Nebraska! Not only can this gentleman officiate but he has ten years of coaching experience at the high school and college level under his belt. Beginning in 1958 at Russell, Knasas he moved on in 1963 to Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colorado for five more years.

Coming to Nebraska in 1968 he has been chosen to officiate the State Tournament six times beginning in 1970. He has also been honored as “head official” for two consecutive years at the big show. It is always a thrill for him to be announced at the district and state meets and to see the participants file into the arena.
